Q: What size cup will this infuser work in?

A:  The Teablee® Tea Infuser Strainer will work in almost any American standard sized cup or mug.  Please see the product details section for dimension requirements.

 

Q: Will this brew/steep coffee?

A: The intended use of our product is a loose leaf tea infuser.  However, it does brew a good cup of coffee as well!  If you want to use it to brew coffee, please follow these instructions carefully:

1. Use coursely ground coffee to prevent fine coffee particles from filtering through the extra-fine mesh basket.

2. When using finely ground coffee, always insert a little piece of coffee filter paper inside the infuser basket before adding the finely ground coffee.

3. Add boiling water to the infuser SLOWLY to prevent overflow.  The coffee is more dense than loose leaf tea, and so it takes more time for the water to pass through the extra-fine mesh of the infuser.

4. Cover the infuser with the lid provided and let it steep for at least 3 minutes before tasting.

 

Q: Will This Filter out All Loose Tea Particles From Ultra Fine Teas such as Yerba Mate, Rooibos, "Gunpowder" Green Tea, or Twinings® Brand Teas?

A: While our Teablee®  brand tea infuser strainer is a extra-fine tea infuser strainer built with the finest stainless steel mesh available on the market presently, we cannot guarantee that a Teablee infuser/strainer will filter out ALL tea particles or grit from ultra fine teas.  For Yerba Mate and Rooibos, a Teablee® infuser/strainer will filter out MOST small leaf particles but may leave a little bit of grit at the bottom which does not degrade greatly from the tea drinking experience.  We recommend in that you insert a small piece of non-bleached filter paper inside the basket if you want to steep powdered or ultra-fine loose teas to prevent grit from filtering its way through the basket.
